Moutsouna is a small seaside village on the eastern coast of Naxos. It is located 39 km from Naxos Town and 11 km from the village of Apiranthos.
Moutsouna cove on Naxos island features two lovely beaches with fine sand and crystal-clear shallow waters, ideal for families with young children. The first of these, Ai Giannis, is spread in front of picturesque taverns, while the second, Tigani, is located a little further south and offers taverns and cafes.
Until the early 1980s, Moutsouna was the port from which the emery (used an abrasive) used to be loaded in boats and exported. The emery is mined up the mountain and was transported to the port by an aerial cableway. The cableway and the remains of the transfer station in Moutsouna can still be seen today.
Amenities include taverns, cafe, mini market, accommodation.
